Still unsure.?
For those of you who have not read my previous question i have been trying for a baby for 18 months now and was diagnosed with PCOS in December last year. I have been on Metformin for 7 weeks now and am very unsure as to whether i feel pregnant or not as i have never been before.
I did 2 pregnancy tests a couple of weeks ago and they both had a very faint line and then i did another last week to confirm it before i went to the doctors as i didnt want the doctor to think i was mad and unfortunately that test was negative.
I have had period pains for just over a week but no period, a touch of constipation, feel a bit sick occasionally, a little bit more tired than usual, really bloated, dont have tender breasts and keep getting hot flushes.
What do you think?
Answers:
go to the doctors and get a proper test done, they are more reliable and it will put your mind at rest. Hope everything works out for you. Good luck
If there was a faint line, thats a positive test. I also had hot flushes at the early stages, didn't know what to do with myself. Hope it is good news for you, and do go and see a GP. They will probably do a blood test.
I thought the management of PCOS heavily dependant on your weight and age. Can you elaborate?
You should seek a specialist consultant.
Hello,
I have PCOS & have had since i was 17 years old, i am now 23 & 13 weeks pregnant with my first baby. When myself & my partner started trying for a baby i had heard a few thing may help the process which if you are keen enough for a baby.you will try.
1) Lose weight if needed, i lost 3 & a half stone, went from 13 stone to 9 stone & 5 lbs. Improves your BMI.
2) Quit smoking (and your partner if they smoke, it is a proven fact that smokers find it harder to conceive)
3) Drink plenty of water (i drink at least 3 litres a day) but as long as you drink at least 1 - 1 & a half litres it will help, flushes your body out & keeps you healthy (and very good for skin).
4) Maybe do a little expercise, i walked a mile every evening.
These all are supposed to help, for the first 6 months i was sat worrying & stressing about how long it was going to take as nothing was happening, but after changing my lifestyle a little & helping my body get healthier i concieved in 9 months, naturally.
Dont sit & worry about how long its taking, this will only make it worse, take it as it comes & as soon as your body is ready it should throw it at you when you least expect it, like it has me. I am due the same day as my mums wedding & counting the days back from my 1st scan i conceived on my 23rd birthday!! Made it all even more special.
Good luck, i hope it all goes well.

I have PCOS and was diagnosed 12 years ago. I have also been on Metformin.
The metformin can make you feel sick, especially in the mornings - it did with me. Can also cause upset stomach, however IBS can also co-inside with PCOS.
With PCOS your hormones are all over the place so not suprised you are getting fake readings.
Unfortunatley I dont think you are pregnant, and would advise to wait another few weeks and maybe do another test before going to the doctors. There is very good chat site/ message board that gives lots of info - www.pcoschat.com
i think you are getting to stressed over the whole thing forget about tests forget about sore breasts and just carry on as normal it will happen when your body is ready and not before good luck stop thinking about it every wakening hour,,,,,
