Ulcers & Sore Mouth?
Can anyone else who is in the early stages of pregnancy tell me whether or not they have suffered with ulcers whilst pregnant? This is the second bout now in the space of a week and a half! My gums are sore as well :-(
Answers:
Gum probs are common in pregnancy. Go to Boots or a health shop and buy a thing called CO-Enzyme Q10
Its good 4 u and helps your gums and is even good for your heart.
Its pricey but its worth it. Get the gel capsules not the tablets.
Hiya,
I suffered alot from ulcers during my pregnancy. After a trip to my dentist he told me it is caused by the same thing hormone that makes your gums bleed. He told me to try a mouth wash called Corsydal (I think thats how it's spelt! sorry!) and I noticed the difference within a few days. If you do use it alot it may slightly stain your teeth but after a quick polish at the dentist they go back to normal. You can buy it over the counter or ask your dentist. Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy x x
I suggest you talk to your doctor about this. Pls dont take any medicines without advise from your doc.
my brother's wife had a similar problem in her early pregnancy. mouth ulcers can often be result of an upset stomach / digestive system and this is not uncommon in early pregnancy
drink lots of fluids - atleast 8-10 glasses of water a day and avoid all oily / spicy foods.
good luck
i didn't have ulcers but my gums were tender and bled a little when i brushed my teeth. that is normal, your body is working harder since you are prego and so it is sending more blood to lots of areas in your body. rinse your mouth with salt water, that should help the ulcers as well as the soreness. it will go away eventually. hope that helps
I have read that people usually get mouth ulcers when they are run down or stressed. May be the initial strain on your body while pregnant is causing your mouth ulcers. You should consult your doctor about the mouth ulcers and get some suggestions for supplements to boost your body while pregnant
Yes, and it's so painful. Between being sick and the discomfort of the ulcers I just didn't want to eat!
What helped me was dissolving salt in hot water, letting it cool and rinsing my mouth out with it, like a mouth wash. Do not swallow the salt water. It cauterises them.
Good luck and congratulations.
I have suffered with bleeding gums the entire way through my pregnancy but I am now 3 days away from my due date and for the passed 3 weeks I have had a mouth full of ulcers. I have been using Corsodyl, (I'm in the uk) I got it from asda and it cost me about £3. It is brilliant and my mouth cleared up within a couple of days. Just don't get the original flavour, get the mint one because the original tastes nasty!! Good luck and I hope the preg goes well for you. x
