Pregnancy or loss?
hi there
wonder if anyone can offer some answers. i have been having pregnancy signs for about 3 wks now and today i have just started period but it was different(very light). the problem is i have had an ectopic pregnancy on the 27th of july (1month 5 days ago) and i havent had a period since before i was pregnant. i had an operation and i started trying 5 days after(silly i know) but i do really want to have a baby,my partner are aware of the risks and were are prepared. has anyone had a very light period before? or has anyone tried so soon after a loss of pregnancy? thank you all and any info would be much appreciated.

First of all sorry for your loss and the horrid experience of having an ectopic pregnancy. You should however go and see the doctor immediately as women who have had an ectopic pregnancy are more prone to it, so conception should be monitored very closely and the light period could be implementation bleeding but also excess fluid in your abdomen due to an ectopic pregnancy.
From my own experience I had a tubal pregnancy in November 2005 in which they had to remove my left Fallopian tube through a c section. Anyway two months later I conceived and am now 28 weeks pregnant with a boy and this pregnancy is going really well. There is no reason not to try and get pregnant right after unless your doctor advises you otherwise but please do so in close coordination with your gyno.
I really hope for you that your pregnant and that everything goes fine with this pregnancy. If not just keep trying, take me as an example I conceived three months after the ectopic pregnancy with one Fallopian tube.

I understnd your want of a baby, but you should really wait at least three months before trying to have a child after and ectopic or a miscarriage. This gives your body time to recover so that the pregnancy is healthy.
A light period can be a sign of pregnancy but it may just be the way your body reacts after an ectopic. I know after the birth of my third, that my period was very light, but it wasn't for the other two.
Take a test! Find out for sure! Good Luck

I have three children no loses and no light periods. You can try a pregnacy test as soon as you think you have missed your first period. Since you have started it is probaly safe to take a test soon because either you started or you are in the process of pretty much missing a period. You will have extreme pms symptoms if you are pregnant. I always got extremely clumsy when I was pregnant.
A pregnancy test is a good idea, and talking to a qualified GP would be a definate
well pregnancy and period signs are about the same,if i were you i would wait a few months to let your body heal.i have lost 5 pregnancies 2 at 5months and you are never prepared, take care of yourself first to have a healthy pregnancy and baby, dont rush it you could do more harm to your fallopian tubes, uterus,and your health in general.

a pregnancy test would show a false positive quite a number of weeks after a miscarriage. You really should have waited till your hormones settled down, your poor body is going through alot.
Ask your GP if he will refer you to the Early pregnancy Assessment clinic at the hospital. They will be able to tell you for sure what is happening.
if i were you i would go straight to the Dr i bleed all the way through pregnancy but you really need to be checked out
3 week is abit early to tell have u done a pregnancy test if positve a visit to your gp straight away & take it from there ( it happened to my x wife) good luck
Want to be pregnant so badly, the mind can play games with your bodywork, my advice is you might be pregnant, but see how much bleeding you have in a couple of days, there is a saying once you have a scrape then you will be very fertile, but to be sure have pregnancy test done at the chemist, doctors won't give you a test so soon, they will tell to wait for another couple of weeks.
