How many kicks are you supposed to have at 24 weeks?
i'm 24 weeks and i was told you should feel atleast 10 kicks a day just wondering whether this is true? it worries me cos sometimes i dont feel my baby that much. please no silly replies. thankyou for reading

I will be 24 weeks on Saturday and my baby moves all day. I think it just depends on how active your baby is. With my last child I don't remember her kicking as much as he is. It varies with all pregnancies. As long as you feel movement sometime during the day I wouldnt stress out. Try drinking some orange juice if you don't feel like the baby is moving enough. One glass of oj and my son feels like he is going to kick a hole in my tummy.
The norm is to feel at least 10 kicks a day, but you don't normally start keeping a kick chart until about 30 weeks, so don't worry. Your baby is still fairly small and if you are a first time mother you will not recognise the feelings as much. In a couple of weeks you will feel wallops, so don't worry.

at 24 weeks i wasent getting any kicks i just felt the baby move around for like 5 seconds like 3 times a day. now that im 27 weeks i get kicks like every 2 or 3 hours.
Well, I would not put an exact number on it, you should feel the baby more after you eat or during certain movements.

At 24 weeks the babys movement is still sporadic. Kick counts arent necessary until later in pregnancy- to make sure the fetus is not in distress. I am almost 29 weeks pregnant, and worried just as you are. Your baby has up days and down days in which he/she is more active and less. Your O.B. will tell you when to start keeping kick counts.

I'm at 30 weeks.my baby has been active from very early in this pregnancy.some days she is non-stop.some days I hardly feel anything.don't worry. Everyone is different. My second child.a boy.hardly did anything.whereas his older sister was doing somersaults in there.
Don't worry to much. I am 25wks. I asked my doctor and he said if I don't feel any movements at all within 2days to go into emergency room. Other than that its ok. Just to make sure ask your doctor.

everyones different. if your 20 week scan was ok then its probably just that either the baby is moving more when you are asleep or could be that your baby is really content. if you are worried see if the doctor can get you in for another scan. for general stuff why not check out www.ivillage.co.uk it has loads of stuff on pregnancy and birth which i found really usefull..
I was never told that there was supposed to be a certain number of kicks per day, just that you should feel him/her move every now and then. As long as you feel it move a couple of times a day i don't think you should worry. But if you are worried go and see your GP or midwife. They will monitor the babies heart to reassure you - they are generally very good at putting expecting mothers at ease
You know, I think it's too early to feel strong kicks. But what they want you to look for is any movement even if it's light and count it as a kick (10 kicks/movements within two hours is what you should feel.
It is 10 a day. When I had my first child I had a 10 a day chart. If you are worried at all go to your midwife she won't mind. I went loads of times with my 3rd pregnancy as I hardly ever felt her move but they just let me hear fetal heartbeat to put my mind at rest. My 3rd has just turned 2. Good luck.
