On MCCB breaker, can I swap the line input and load output?
As we know that MCCB has line and load terminals; i.e. input power source (R,S,T) to be connected to the MCCB Line-in, while the load is connected to the MCCB Load-out. My question is can I connect the power source to MCCB Load-out, and connect the load to MCCB Line-in? Can it work this way? Will it trip if shorted to ground?

Yes, it will work, i.e, with the power source connected to load-out, it will trip if a ground fault occurs at the equipment that is connected to the line-in.
Basically the MCCB is a mechanically switch controlled by a thermal relay and a magnetic trip coil. As long as the MCCB sees either an overload current or fault current with a magnitude exceeding the rating of the MCCB, the thermal relay or magnetic trip coil will be able to detect the excessive current, and it will operate and disconnect the supply.
It is not permitted in the governing electrical rules in most countries because it could cause electric shock danger to any person who might need to carry out maintenance on it. Say having switched the MCCB in the off position, he or she may think that the terminal marked 'load terminal' has no voltage on it but in fact it has the full supply voltage and can kill if someone touches it.
