Could you make a monkey man hybrid ?

The strangest question we could come up with in the office.

Answers:
Yes. His name is G.W. Bush.
I could not.
no we have are differnt species. but myabe we could cross our genes in a lab like they did with the liger.
I thought this had already been done. The result plays for Manchester United and England.
They probably could in a lab. Whose to say they havent done it already? You wouldnt know what they were up to.
They are already talking about creating a sheep/man hybrid in order to help people with medical problems.
you can! this is scientifically proven in 1980 in northern region of ireland my ex boyfriend was created! i could send you pictures i belive this will answer your question!.. he is a cross breed of evil monkeys and hairy men! .
No, different and incompatable genes. It would require some significant mutations on one or the other.

Then again, I know some democrats..
Yes. They are already working on cow/human hybrids, for stem cell research.

The monkey/human embryo would not survive to birth.
hmmm. that would make the nut in a bottle experiment interesting...

would the hybid figure it out?

cos no-one down the pub can....
if this is the strangest your office can come up with, its a pretty boring office you lot work in..and the answer is no
It would certainly be possible to create a human / monkey hybrid by genetic manipulation of the egg cells of either species, but it would be much easier to create an inbetween species for man and a great ape.
Stephen Jay Gould even speculated that it might be possible to find an intermediate species by back-breeding between modern apes (such as bonobos) and present day human beings. This technique has recovered the quagga (which was once thought to be extinct) by selective breeding among zebras.
It may even be that if the sasquatch or the yeti are one day discovered they may well proved to be an intermediate species between men and apes. This certainly should not surprise us. There have certainly been more than one species of human, and interbreeding between different species of human seems very likely to have happened at various points in our history.
I don't think it is possible to make a true hybrid, which means that it would have half its chromosomes from a monkey and half from a human.
It should be possible to make a chimera. Look at that link below for more info on the subject also about differences between chimeras and hybrids. I think there are possibilities of making a chimera which involve a mouse only having human liver cells or something like that, you can try looking that further up.
