How can you understand whether a house facing to north or west or south or east?
Answers:
If you can't afford a compass, wake up early in the morning and look for the sun. It will rise in the East. If you turn 90° to the right, that will be South. West is the opposite direction from East and North is the opposite direction from South.
Get yourself a compass!
Easiest way is to use a compass. If you don't have one watch the sun, it rises in the east and sets in the west so that should give you a rough idea of which way your house is facing.
one way is look what way all the sky dishes are facing. I'm pretty sure they face south or south east.
I'm sure someone can tell me otherwise.
He he , get a compass or you can figure it out from the direction that the sun travels over the house. Rises in the East, sets in the West.
the sun rises i the east and sets in the west, therefore find out what face is sunny in the morning and/or evening and you can work out the answer..
good luck
It depends on which way the front door faces normally. Generally speaking people are only interested in which way the back garden faces. They prefer it to face south, this means that the house does not cast a shadow on the rear garden, this means they can sun-bath in their garden easier and the soil drys out faster which is good for many plants. It is very dependant on what you want.
Look which direction the sun is and note the time of day. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
Alternatively, use a compass.
remember the half way point below the arc of where the sun rises and sets on the horizon and that should be due south.
simplest way is to observe where the sun rises - that direction is always EAST so you can work out the others
or see the house location on the map / A-Z and it shows at the bottom of the page the directions so you can work out which direction the house is facing.
as per Indian ancient science of peace in a home, a house facing east is considered very beneficial
Compass is the easiest way, as if you are in Europe/North America, the sun sometimes rising from slightly south east or north east. If you are in the equator then very easy.
compass will make u understand it or simply ask ur grandmother only if she was born b4 compass
Stand at your front door at about 7am- the sun raises (about this time of year) a little south of east and will set around 5ish a little south of west.
If your out side your front door..
North - When sun rises behind you to the right and sets to the left
North West - rise behind you and set to your front left
West - rise behind you sets in front
South West - rise to your left sets in front of you
South - rises to your left sets to your right
South East - Rises directly in front of you sets to your right (a little behind you)
East - rise in front of you (a little to the right) set behind you.
North East - rises a little to your right sets to the left behind you.
No compass? Use the hands of a watch. Point the hour hand in the direction of the sun. The position of the 1 o'clock and 7 o'clock marks on your watch are the North and South and 10 o'clock and 4 o'clock East and West. Changes slightly in the UK when the clocks go fwd/back for daylight saving. (obviously does not work with a digital watch!!!)
Aint got a compas? Stand out side your house, raise yer right arm and point to the sun rising. Raise yer left arm that is where the sun will set. You are facing North and yer back is South.
You will be fairly accurate to with in 5-10 degrees
