How can a person count the rate of beating of the left ventricle?

The left ventricle is the chamber of the heart that pumps blood through to the arteries.
The "pulse" is simply the vibration of those arteries due to the pressure changes caused by the beating of the left ventricle. Therefore your pulse rate is the same as your left ventricular beating rate.
Your pulse can be felt on any artery that runs close to the skin. The most common is to do it at the radial artery in the wrist.

Otherwise, I usually check my own at carotid artery in the neck. Just place your thumb on your windpipe in the centre of your neck and then slide it round to the side. You will feel a very obvious pulsation, which is coming from your carotid artery.
You put your finger on your pulse (about 1in below the wrist crease under the base of the thumb) and time how many times it beats in a minute. That's the heart rate.
Just take your pulse. If your left ventricle isnt beating along with rest of your heart then you might want to trade your computer for a good pacemaker.(Discuss this with your Cardiologist)
