Why can you not give blood if you have snorted drugs?

I read on a site that you should wait 12 mos to give if you have used Cocaine or other street drugs. This is the info I found:

because something may go wrong with the person whom you are giving the blood to.
I think it depends on what drugs you did and how long ago you did them. If something is going to affect the quality of the blood in some way, obviously it's no good to anyone. For example I can't give blood as I've had Hepititus A and Typhoid in the past, so my blood for others is not really healthy enough.
Because I wouldn't want your doped up blood pumped into my veins.

drug abusers shouldn't be allowed to give blood at all regardless if you have snorted them or just orally taken the drugs.
basically because for any drug to have an effect it needs to enter the blod stream. drugs snorted will be absorbed through the mucous membranes in your nose and enter the blood that way. Same principle as when you smoke the chemicals are also absorbed into the blood.
Why would you want to pass your contaminated blood to someone who needs CLEAN, HEALTHY BLOOD !!!
