Just another one for you to have a go at!?

number of occupants -> Number of vehicles
1- 44
2 - 37
3 - 22
4 - 10
5 - 6
6 - 1
more that 6 - 4

If 6000 vehicles passed how many would you expect to contain more than 3 occupants

Answers:
Add up vehicles with more than 3 passengers - 10 + 6 + ! + 4 to get 21. Then add up the total vehicles to get 124.

Then take the ratio of cars with more than 3 passengers over total number of cars - 21/124

Multiply this ratio by 6000 to get 1016 cars with more than 3 passengers.
erm.....alot
I really don't know, I'm sorry; but thanks for the 2 points (I'm desperate, not being rude!)
Around 16.9% contain more than 3.

Therefore out of 6000 cars, I would say 1014.
Sorry, missed class that day.
1016
Well given the numbers above and with an accuracy of +- 2% it should be about 1064 or 1065.

The number came out to 1064.516 . so give or take 1!
you need to add up the total in this list, then work out what percentage is more than 3

then find that % of 6000
850
17/120=x/6000
x=(17/120)*6000
x = 850

How is everyone getting 21/124?
I added it up 3 times.

Okay, I didn't see the "more than 6 - 4"

Then 1016 is correct.
Relative frequency.

You have 21/124 with more than 3 in your data, so multiply this by 6000 to get your answer - which is 1016 to the nearest whole car!
1016
as above ^^
Can people stop helping this girl. She needs to learn not be spoon fed. We have enough thickos in the world without adding to the problem.

Gemma. Do you really want to be a sad pathetic loser?
on a wing i would say 3000.
21/124= 169 is prob of more than 3.

0.169x6000=1016 cars with more than 3 people!
total number of cars sampled =44+37+22+10+6+1+4 = 124

total number of cars with more than 3 occupants = 10+6+1+4
= 21
the ratio of the ratio of the number of cars with over 3 occupants to the total number of cars is = 21/124

assuming that the sample is a100% accurate reflection of the cars on the road that day,the number of cars containing more than 3 occupants in 6000 cars = 21/124*6000 = 1016

hence there are 1016 cars out of the 6000 cars carrying more than 3 occupants
