Can barcodes tell you country of manufacture?

Answers:
No, bar codes contain 2 pieces of data. The first part is the

manufacturer and the 2 part is the part number.
Not directly. The barcode is normally made up of a manufacturer code and a product code.

Whilst it's quite likely that manufacturers will have different product codes for the same product in different countries - there isn't a 'Country Number' embedded in a standard bar code.
They could...barcodes are just codes for letters or numbers.

So a barcode could say "Made in Canada" if it was long enough.

They can say anything you want them to.
No, only the country that issued the code.

What are the country codes?
Here is a partial list. Remember, it indicates the country that issued the code, NOT THE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN OF THE PRODUCT. The authoritative list is here.

Barcodes are quite simply a computer recognised numeric code. They are a sequence of numbers and that is all. The scanner's interpretation of the code is at the discretion of the individual that inputs the original information into the companies system, ie product name, produce, cost etc .
no, they contain two parts -- but country of manufacturer is not contained in the data.
