Why are we upside down when we look into a spoon?
Answers:
the spoon is a concave mirror
cause of the curvature of the spoon.
we are not, you must have weird spoons, or are completely crazy
Your brain turns your vision upside down, so it is the right way up. since, we actually see the world upside down to start with. so perhaps the spoon, being concave. is reversing this effect and making it look right:-)
I know what I mean. and would explain it further. but that will have to do in this small answer;-)
convex and concave mirrors wil adjust the image as you view it, a bit likt the mirrors at a fun fair!
it is the image being bent over the surface and refracted. yes refracted, not reflected!

You may be upside down when you look in a spoon but I do not stand on my head to eat.
Yes it is the shape of the spoon that causes this.
A curved spoon is similar to a concave mirror in that the centre of the mirror is further from the viewer than the edges.
If an object is outside a certain point (the focal point), then the image is formed upside down. If the image is inside the focal point, then it is the right way up. (If it is at the focal point, no image is formed.). verify this by looking at the image while moving the spoon closer to you.
Look up concave mirrors and ray diagrams on the net. here is an example:

You could draw a ray diagram. I can't online. But it would show you that rays from your feet reflect back to your head and vice versa so you appear upside down.
Incidentally, our eyes view the world upside down and it is our brain that turns it the right way up. If you put special glasses on that turn the world the right way up, it would appear upside down for a while, until your brain sorted it out, and then it would turn it the right way round again. Take the glasses off, and things would be upside down until your brain worked it out. You'd feel quite ill whilst this was going on, I think.
