Polar Bear vs. Bengal Tiger?

Who would win in the unlikely event of a battle between the two?

Answers:
Polar bears live in the Arctic whilst Bengal tigers are from India. The polar bear would win. If the tiger was a Siberian however, the tiger would win.
polar bear
obviously the Bengal Tiger.
a tiger because it has claws and speed
The bear. More dextrous and a more dense layer of fur and fat that wouldn't be as easy to scratch and bite as the tigers would.

Let's set it up. I think the have these in London Zoo. we could break in and set it up and open a book.

I'll let you go get the animals though and I'll sell the tickets from about 1 mile away.
As a general rule, a tiger and bear of the same exact weight the tiger wins. This has actually happened in Asia with 500 pound black bears against 500 pound tigers. A bear twice the mass of a tiger the bear is the victor. For example, a 1,000 pound polar bear beats a 500 pound tiger, in theory, because polar bears might be a bit far north for an actual encounter.
It depends.

Probably the tiger, since they're a much faster runner.
I would say the Bengal tiger because it is more agile, can twist and turn its body, can jump up in the air and on to trees, has sharper fangs.and is swifter. The polar bear would move slower as it is huge and bulky, is not able to turn round as fast as a tiger, is unable to leap.
There was recently a mock up on TV investigating this scenario but it was between polar bear and sabre tooth tiger. The Poler bear slaughtered the Sabre tooth so i think for sure it will kick the *** of any modern day tiger! Unless of coarse it was a rumble in the jungle, the bear got heat exhaustion the tiger might get lucky.
personally i wouldn't like to find out. both these glorious animals
are endangered and should be protected
Take a look at this link.

You're asking the wrong question. The question should be what would win; a Grizzly bear or, well, anything else? Apparently it's not open for debate. Check it out.

Contains some nice anecdotal evidence about 19th century pit fight with bears and lions.
Lets do the Math,Polar Bear10-12 feet tall on hind legs 1000-1200#, Bengal Tiger 6-8feet long w/tail 300-600# bear beats ***** cat
I say the the royal bengal tiger cause they are one of the strongest animal in the world. They are known to hunt and eat rabbits, water buffalo, deer, goat, wild boar and gaur, where the polar bear usually hunts whales, walrus and sometimes penguins.Tigers are also known to eat peacocks and climb trees to hunt primates.Bengal tigers are also said to take on other predators like leopards, wolves, crocodiles and dholes as prey, though not usually. They wll also eat elephant and rhino calves, but not the adults.1 tiger has been observed to drag a gaur kill, that later 13 men couldn't move. From this we know that tigers can drag 5 times as their own weight,as gaurs usually weigh shortly 1 tons or more.

Even if the polar bear is the largest carnivore on land they are not as strong as a royal bengal tiger.
The bear I reckon.
