If it true that a 'Daddy Long Legs' is very venomous but just can't excrete it's poison?

A friend told me this but it can't be true, right?!

Answers:
yes, well i dont know what that means, but i heared that they have very small mouths so the can't bite you!!
They are very poisonous, they just cannot puncture human skin.
yep i've heard that too, so don't squash one
I always thought that they were poisonous than a Black Widow's, but they cannot bite humans because their jaws won't open wide enough.

BUT then I heard that it was just a popular myth!

And that a Daddy long legs (crane fly) is different to a Daddy long legs spider.

The Daddy long legs does have some venom but not much.

Any way check out the link below to research it for yourself!
From what I have heard, and seen on mythbusters, they have very small fangs that can't penetrate the human skin.

** correction** Some can penetrate the skin but their venom is not poisonous to Humans or they cant deliver enough venom to be deadly to humans.
Yes it is true.
I heard something different to that and that is that there is a spider that lives in very hot climates with the same name and that is very venomous. The myth came form this and apparently it isn't true it's just people thought they were venomous because of the name.
Yes, they just don't have the ability to administer it!
not a good idea to eat them?
No, your friend is correct. Daddy long legs are very venomous but because they can't or don't inject enough poison into humans they are harmless to humans.
I heard Ricky Gervais say that on "Ricky Gervais: Animals", he described it as 'the strongest poison known to man'. He seemed to be reading off a fact sheet but im not sure.
Its hilarious and well worth watching.
I couldnt find it on youtube.com but i did find this video. I havent watched it but it looks useful for this question.

Crane flies (Daddy Long Legs) are supposedly the most venomous creature in existance. Along with every spider in the UK, they just don't have the teeth or jaw strength to be able to puncture human skin.

No, that's false. Depending on what you mean by Daddy Long Legs, you could be speaking of the crane fly, a harvestman, or a common long-legged house spider. The harvestman and crane fly do not have any sort of poison, and the house spider has only mild poison.
that is true. its venom is more poisonous than a black widow. however its fangs are so small that they are unable to bite us.
The one and only jamie. YOU ARE COMPLETELY WRONG.

stronger then a black widow. YOU JOKER

LETS START AGAIN.

THIS IS A MYTH

THERE IS NO POISON

WHY DO PEOPLE BASE THEIR ONLY SOURCE ON RICKY GERVAIS ANIMALS STAND UP SHOW

IT IS A COMPLETE MYTH I REPEAT
I was watching Myth busters on the discovery channel and they proved it to be a myth.
I do not think so. My cat used to eat them and never got sick from it.
well, you're half right. They are venomous, but they can't hurt humans because they can't bite us (their mouths are too small!)
Well, he was close. A "daddy long legs" is a creature that is very closely related to a scorpion. It is extremely venomous, but its mouth parts are unable to pierce human flesh, so it's not a danger to people.
It's just a myth.they busted it on Myth Busters on the Discovery Channel.
Where does this myth come from? Daddy Long Legs, or, to give them their correct name, Crane Flies, are harmless, have no bite and no venom. They don't need it. They do not eat throughout their adult life so why would nature equipment them so?
You are right, it is not true. First, no spider has poison. They have venom (venom is injected, but that is just a technical detail that drives me crazy). Second, you have to define what you mean by daddy long legs. There are three basic animals that are called this. One is a crane fly. This is a flying insect with very long legs. They are not venomous, and pose no threat to humans. The second one is a spider, and it does have venom, but it is not dangerous. It will rarely bite and if it does, it won't be any worse than a bee sting. The third is an arachnid, but not a spider. These arachnids do not have venom glands, so they are not the "most deadly spiders." In fact, they aren't even all that deadly to insects. They are sometimes scavangers, sometimes hunters, and will even eat rotting plants. As you can see, none of these "daddy long legs" have poison but no fangs.
not true
your friend is spot on buddy, they are a very venomous spider but they're fangs are unable to pierce the human skin
It is venomous, but not very. And it can excrete poison and it can bite.
