Why can't we stick our landfill rubbish in the trench where the titanic sank ?

Have you no respect, alot of innocent people died on that ship, they died through no fault of their own, so why would we want to dump junk there
its not a trench , it sank to the bottom of the sea.. have some respect!
Not all of it would sink AND, more importantly in my opinion, dumping that stuff out there poisons and kills marine life that to some extent we depend on for food.
