Anyone out there know how to use excel to calculate confidence intervals? If so, PLEASE help!?
Anyone able to help me calculate confidence intervals for differences in
percentages between 2 groups in excel?
e.g. if I had found 50% of group A to say yes and 65% of group B to say no, how do I calculate the confidence intervals for the 15% difference between A and B to see if the difference is significant using microsoft excel..if its of any help, I do have the actual numbers , eg 20/40 said yes in group A etc.and yes I've tried using the help button in excel, but it wants me to give the standard deviation which I dont know?.or am I supposed to just put 2.5 as the SD? Someone please help!!

use the formula, which one? Hm, that one if you will solve it problem on a paper!
Crack open your text book and learn how to calculate the standard deviation.
It isn't possible without knowing the S.D. And "crack open your text book .." is of no help because without the original data you can't calculate the S.D. You probably realise an excel function does that for you if you have the data!
Incidentally, why have you given the percentage saying yes in group A but no in group B? Presumably that means 35% said yes in group B, but why didn't you say it that way?
