Imagine that Richard Noble´s jet car is at the speed of sound..?

when daring driver Andy spots a drunk weaving about across the test track. He blows the horn in warning..does the sound carry forward?

Answers:
The poor old drunk is done for- as the sound can't propogate forward faster than - well the speed of sound. If Andy leaned on the horn then all the soundwaves would effectivley build up - and arrive in one big thump - which is what causes a sonic boom from a jet
No. That is the point of going faster than the speed of sound: the sound waves cannot propagate forward and overtake the object making that sound.
Yes but only because by then he would have already crashed the car
No,

If the car was doing the speed of sound, he would hear the horn at exactly the same time as his legs were removed from his torso!
Surely the sound would travel forward but not as fast as the car.
I hope daring Andy has good insurance and has paid his Bupa up.
