Is it possible to build a domed house under the ocean?
could we built a dome or other such structure on the ocean floor that could house a community , maybe not in the middle but on the continnental shelf under maybe 500 metres of ocean, would this be posible, and is it just a case of money (no one wantin to pay up ) could this solve our population problemas the bottom of the ocean is like a vast desert? im only intrested in if it is posible not weather its morally acceptible

yes but you you would have to make sure that the water pressure is not too high so only on shallowish sea beds and it would be dangerous if the structure did fail it's bye bye to everyone.
We have made air tight structures before (eg space craft and submarines) so its possible just not practical.
Already been done by the Japanese or Chinese some years ago in a book I was reading at the time title escapes me at present.

Yes, you could build such a structure. It would need to have stainless steel or some other corrosion resistant material that is strong enough to hold that much pressure.
Also, the construction could be completed with water in the structure that could be pumped out via a one way valve while water is pumped into the dome.
Domes are the structurally soundest building, as the stress is distributed evenly along the curve, instead of at points like in polygon.
