My neighbour has just told me that she has been bitten by mosquitoes?

she also told me that of all the people she has spoken to recently have also been bitten, some more than once. She has a nasty looking itchy bite on her face that she is dabbing with vinegare. I have not heard of such an outbreak in Cleethorpes. But apparently they are over here! Anybody know anything?

Your neighbour is probably a drama queen
West Nile virus is spread by infected mosquitoes, and can cause serious, life-altering and even fatal disease. Although September may start feeling like Fall it is still peak West Nile virus season. Don't let your guard down. Still keep insect repellent handy, wear long sleeves and long pants and get rid of mosquito breeding sites in the yard
There are always plenty of mosquitoes if you live near a slow-flowing river or lake. My neighbours have been bitten lots of times this year, but I can't remember ever being bitten myself - I think my skin is too thick for them to get through.
Cleethorpes you must be joking come over here to Spain they're a way of life.Seriously try getting eurax hydrocortisone cream it's great for bites but the main thing is to try and stop scratching, you are spreading the poison that way.
are mosqitos not common in your area? I usually get 7 or 8 at a time! what's the worry?
tell her to use vinegar instead of vinegare
You should buy some special products to sprayn around the house against mosquitos!
perfect weather for them damp and warm.....we in Scotland are plagued by midges but there have also been mosquito's this year, i got stuff on eBay that the AS are supposed to use and it smells nice for a change , it is Avon skin so soft dry oil body spray.it has to b the dry oils spray to work ,i get it from gailsavon.com now. it works against the ferocious scotch midge
yes there are a lot of outbreaks , i live in north nottinghamshire and we are getting bit on a nightly basis, my advice is to cover the bite with a clear nail varnish this stops the bite coming in contact with the air and stops the itch, but there are many products u can get from the chemist that will do the same
I wish I could show you my arm, it looks like Dracula has been around me. I went into the garden at 5.30pm on Mon. and did a bit of work, I managed to smack one of the mossies, but another 5 or 6 got me, now turning into bloodblister type sores, last week they got my feet when I was mowing the lawn. It has never ever happened to me before this year. I live in SE London.
They always hang about where there is water or overhanging trees. They hate the smell of lavender!
