1+1 +1= 3. How can this be?

Answers:
I have a stock (imaginary) of One Thousand Pound cheques.

1 cheque when cashed nets you one thousand pounds .

I propose to give you 1 (cheque) + 1 (cheque) + 1 (cheque) I reckon YOU would be able to tell me the total amount of cash you would receive for them.

However, since you appear to be poverty stricken in mental ability you would not appreciate my offer so I withdraw it.
its called math and 1+1+1=3 because there are free 1s Dur
Hmmmm Hmmmm HMMMMMM!! uh it is!!
wait, you're no einstein, right?
dont know either
what else would it be?
No way!!
Thats a valid question. I guess it goes back to ancient times when math was created. 1 + 1 + 1 = 3, thats just the nature of math.
I dont know, this is one of the hardest questions I've ever encountered. Is it even possible? that this could be
the same as 2+1=3
Actually, 1 + 1 + 1 = 111
ok ok ok..we get it,not the sharpest tool in the shed..shame
use your **** eso, to answer that question.
the symbol 3 is used to represent three of anything.
I have often been taxed by this question, and quite honestly I have never believed it !
before the introduction of 0 your answer would have been 12 because of the space after the second 1
you win it's 111.

Wake up you donut
No not "Be" "THREE"
simple maths.
it can only be, is if you use the rules of addition in mathematics.. if you make your own rules up... it can't be
what is even worse is that 1 x 1 = 1
Well dude, it's called "Addition" in "Mathematics."
Er, because you put 1 in three places? I could be wrong.
Well, you either must be very tired, lame, or simply stupid if u have the guts to ask this question. If you have 1, and you plus it with another 1, u get 2 1's, which is 2! Blablnalblabalbala untill u get 3
if they were mice it would by now be 1+1+1+1+100s
oh my god ure a genius u invented the basics of mathematics if it werent born how mathematics would have continued. thank you almighty. very stupid question but i want to know why you put space between the second 1 and the second plus?
well
if u gimme a good enough reason for why it shud not be 3 i will give u a gud reason why it should be three.
it is just arthmetic !
Got to be good lookin' 'cause he's so hard to see..
Come together.. right now .. over me.
The reason 1+1+1=3 is because it is defined as that. The most basic definition of the number 3 is 1+1+1.

If you have 1 of something, and then you add another 1, and then another 1, then you will have 1+1+1. It cannot logically be 1+1 or 1+1+1+1 or anything else. After that, it is just down to what you decide to call it, and our language calls it 'three' with the symbol 3.
mmmmmmmm . . . . wot a toughie!!!
