Where does the moon go when we can't see it in the sky at night?

Answers:
Playing hiding and catch with other friend moons!
It goes over the horizon so other people can see it !
the other side of the world
It's made of cheese and gets eaten by a giant mouse.
It goes out, the batteries have to be recharged every 12 hours or so.
It's always night somewhere on earth.
It has to sleep too!
it is continuesly moving around the earth so we cannot see it if it is on the other side of the world, but it is always there
it simply is not casting a reflection of the sun, therefore we can't see it. Either that or the martians have towed ot for late payment of parking tickets.
Below the horizon.

The other hemisphere can see it though.
it goes to anyother state. i think . like when its day here , in some places its night . didnt u ever see the clouds moving in the sky? well the moon moves w/ it .. when its day here and the sun is out, in other place w/ a time change. then the moon is there, and then it rotates.. (( i think))
in the shadows of space. The moon as we see it as night is there because the sun shines on it
Behind the clouds. The ones you also can't see because its night time. Now get to bed before I tell you again ! You've got school in the morning !
The moon is getting its round. when we sleep at night moon sleeps during the day to be able to get up in the night and reflect the rest of the light :)
can you imagine yourself not sleeping at all :)

Cheers!!
I goes to the land of the sugar fairies, who shine it and charge the batteries before it comes up the next night!

Woo Hoo!
Sir Patrick Moore's eaten it.
I hear he likes a bit of cheese.
the sun isn't shining on it where u live. on the other side of the world it would be a full moon :P
Round the other side of world so others can see it.
Its either on the other side of the horizon and the earth itself is blocking your view, or its in a position where the sun's light is NOT reflexing off of it for our eyes to see it. But its there.
the moon is revolving round the earth, so when u don't see it .....#..(.... its the other side that can see the moon...........
see the illustration above
Legend:
# moon
( left half of the earth
) right half of the earth
The moon doesn't "go" anywhere. It's just in shadow.
it doesn't go anywhere it is just blocked by clouds
Im thinking that it doesnt go anywhere . the sun isnt shining on it so we cant see it out there . but its there
the moon doesnt go anywhere, when it is daylight in one part of the world, it has to be night time in another part of the world, the moon shows up in the night time part because there is no sun to block it out, and vice versa.
behind a cloud?
It is still there believe it or not. it is simply not reflecting the sun's rays.
Visbility might be poor - too many city lights or cloud and pollution/ haze.

When we see a full moon we have a full view of 'daytime' on the moon. A new moon is 'night time' on the moon.

The other moon shapes are various side on views where we see some 'day' and some 'night' on the moon.

A crescent moon on a cloudy night may be difficult to see - it may also be hard to see from the ground floor of a well lit block of flats. (I have a security light outside mine - can't see anything in the sky)

As well as all these factors - the orbit of the moon does take it out of sight at times.
to the pub it is the type of answer you will understand the real story I fear may be beyond you
