Do pigs eat their own excrement?

if so does it give them nutrition?

Answers:
No.. not that I have ever seen in 10 years of pig observation(farming). In fact they are very clean animals and most will eliminate in one corner of thier pen only. I suppose they might eat thier poo if they were desperate enough, but I doubt there is much nutrition left in the feces as it is quite well digested.
No.
i don't know- but i thik i've heard it before
no and no.
i dont know
I don't know about pigs, but I know that chickens and dogs do. I have no idea why, though.
Not even if they are starving.
no they don't
no but they drink other pigs pee (so my mum says)
All animals are repelled by their own waste. Pigs like pig food. I have seen them eat pig food that is contaminated with their droppings, but they don't like contaminated food.

They like to eat their own excrement about as much as you would. Obviously, even you would eat your own mess if it were mixed with food and you were starving!
YES - hence the tapeworm and other parasites in their system
