Science a necessatiy?doctors?

I want to be a doctor, but am not that fond of science. it sounds stupid i know.

i have heard that the science is only used to get into medical school, and from there on is somewhat different.

i have good marks in science, but dont enjoy it. i could put up with a fraction of it.
Also- doctors- does training to be a doctor completely take over your life. It apprently takes 9 years to fully train- so what if i wanted to start a family?
is there enough time?

Answers:
Medicine IS a branch of science. Doctors ARE scientists.

They think and work like scientists. Every time they diagnose a patient, they are forming theories, testing them, eliminating dead ends, and revising the theories. They read relentlessly the latest research. They learn to evaluate evidence. They know their biology, morphology, anatomy, kinetics, etc. etc. etc. inside and out. They ARE scientists.

Not only is science used to get into medical school, it is used every day while you are in medical school, and every day of your career as a doctor.

Medicine is not only a branch of science . it is one of the most complex. If you don't enjoy science, you are going to *hate* medical school.

But that said, I'm not trying to steer you away from medical school, I'm trying to steer you *towards* science. If you "don't enjoy it", maybe you just haven't had good science teachers.

Science is absolutely fascinating, beautiful stuff. Even if you choose another profession, to decide that for the rest of your life you don't "enjoy" science, is like deciding that if you don't become a musician, you don't have to "enjoy" music, or if you're not a filmmaker, you don't enjoy the movies, or if you're not a chef, then you don't "enjoy" good food.

Don't give up on science!
probably
thats what child minders are for ,but its hard to find a good one ,
If you're not smart enough to spell correctly, you're not smart enough to be a doctor. Perhaps you should look into another area of study. I certainly wouldn't trust you.
duh!
Make your decision. Being a Doctor is a huge decision.
Medical school is ALL science. My suggestion to you is to choose something you have a talent for. Medicine doesn't seem to fit you.
If you do not like science, you probably should consider some other field. The practice of medicine is different than the basic science courses but requires their understanding.

The time requirements are pretty accurate but do not explain the simple fact that more than 90% of those applying to medical school are not admitted. Just signing up for the courses or even finishing college will usually not result in admission.
It depends on the length of your life for a start.

Science is very necessary. Otherwise you could kill someone with wrong presciptions. You will need to know about chemicals of all kinds - not just drugs. Plants and their reactions to people and herbal medicines and not to mention the biology part - human anatomy.
really, stop and think. what is the body?--science. what is how medicine works?--science. what is diease processes?--science. the body and medicine are both science. doctors practice medicine on the body. therefore, doctors practice science. all day, every day, for the rest of their lives!
Medicine is all about science- anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, a little bit of physics. If you like biology, but not physics, you might be OK. Depends on you really. If you hate all science, maybe try going into a different field where you can help people., Why do you want to be a Dr, is it for the money, respect, helping people, excitement? There are just as many bad points, and most people don't make it anyway. Good luck whatever you decide, give it your best shot.
It depends on what you want to become doctor in, if you want to be a Doctor in Medicine (as it sounds like you do) you will need to know and learn Biology. The rest of the sciences aren't really part of medicine, that I know of anyway.

It does take a lot of time and a lot of effort to become a Doctor, a family is possible but it may end up taking you a bit longer to get fully qualified. My mum had a family and took time off to have a family and managed to become a Nurse.
A doctor that doesn't like science? Where do you propose to practice? - just so that I can make certain that you don't treat me.
be an accountant instead
thanks for the two points. A medical doctor is a scientist.
