Wasps, if you could eradicate them from the planet would you and why?
Answers:
Wasps have been known to farm aphids as a food source. Yes wasps sting and yes wasp venom has been known to kill people that are allergic. But, as humans we have developed sentience and have learned to be afraid of things rather than warned off becuase of colours etc. However if this post was about Bengal tigers (equally as frightening) then people would say no. We have no right to eradicate a whole species simply because we consider them undesireable
i wouldn't.why? cos i got better things to do with my time..thanks!
Yes, I'm not sure that they serve ANY positive purpose.
GET RID OF THEM ALL! I won't even go outside if there is one out there. I'm happy to say I have never been stung though.
Yeh i would wipe out anything that stings. Oh yeh & daddy longlegs cos they r nasty looking things.
yes yes yes ..because their is no purpose for them only to annoy me!!!!!!!
Ten years ago I would have because when they sting, you really know about it! However, if I did completely eradicate them I'd probably be screwing nature up in some way - and I'd still have Bees to contend with anyway!
Unless someone could prove to me that they had a purpose i would in a snap! my husband is horribly allergic to them and swells up like a balloon if one gets him and i'm not looking forward to the first time my daughter gets stung in case she has the same reaction!
Yes i would, the reason is that they have no known purpose, nothing eats them they are not part of the food chain, they are just a bloody pest.
yes, cause they are like a virus that indonesia would use to destroy mankind!, dont be fooled by the humanitarian ways
I wouldn't.
I find that if you just ignore them and don't make any sudden movements, they don't sting you.
Wiping out an animal is never a good idea, it could be the death of you.
Yes, because I'm scared of them, if one comes near me my wife has to save me
deffo ! a wasp sting killed a mates dad ( he was up a ladder & fell off when it stung him..im giggling..i know i shouldnt but i am)
No due to the fact that all animals have a distinct role in the world biome. For instance, wasps feed their young with many common pests such as aphids, flies and caterpillars.
Aphids eat plants, as do caterpillars. Flies spread germs among creatures.
If wasps were to be eradicated, the amount of pests would increase surmountably.
Yes, get rid of them, they are annoying and utterly, utterly pointless.
No. I have worked around them every summer for 40 years. I've never been stung.
Actually i wouldint, Because Wasps and bee`s both polonate Flowers and flowers grow into trees or plants and that gives us what we breath not going to spell it.
But they can be a pain in the butt with there Stinging and buzzing ¬.¬
No they dont bother me
Wasps get rid of alot of dead wood, plus they are part of an important balance in the eco system, so although I'm not keen i would keep em
Wasps are like Daleks - evil killimg machines without soul or concience.
Doctor: 'If someone who knew the future, pointed out a child to you and told you that that child would grow up totally evil, to be a ruthless dictator who would destroy millions of lives. could you then kill that child?' Sarah Jane Smith: 'We're talking about the Daleks. The most evil creatures ever invented. You must destroy them. You must complete your mission for the Time Lords!' Doctor: 'Do I have the right? Simply touch one wire against the other and that's it. The Daleks cease to exist. Hundreds of millions of people, thousands of generations can live without fear. in peace, and never even know the word "Dalek".' Sarah Jane Smith: 'Then why wait? If it was a disease or some sort of bacteria you were destroying, you wouldn't hesitate.' Doctor: 'But if I kill. Wipe out a whole intelligent life form, then I become like them. I'd be no better than the Daleks.'
Doctor: 'I know that although the Daleks will create havoc and destruction for millions of years. I know also, that out of their evil, must come something good.'
No I would not kill wasps off - perhaps wasp venom cures cancer! Also unless a wasp actually stings me then it has not done me any harm so I sould not harm it first.
wasps eat rotting vegatation and rubbish, they do not eat aphids or flies ,spiders eat flies,
nahh im farr to lazy to do somthing like wipe out a species but i suppose if it was just with the push of a button i prob would
No, because they are part of the food chain. They keep other worse insects under control. The purpose of their sting is to paralyse their prey so that they can then feast on it and so keep the number of other pests down. One of their favourite foods is the European earwig.
Damn right I would! I got stung several times as a child. Once above my eye, once on my lip and once a wasp flew inside my shirt and got me on the shoulder. Very nasty. Anytime I see one I take it out with a newspaper. Pre-emptive strike every time. I get it before it gets me.
No I wouldn't, they are here fair and square. They also provide important little things in our ecological systems that would maybe hurt us.
no they r part of the food chain
YES! a whole nest of them attacked and stung me when i was little and i hate them. they have no use - they must be disposed of!!
I would not, they eat lots of smaller bugs and form part of the food chain.
I would coz i got stung the other week on my hand and it swelled something awful and the pain was terrible for three days, kill em all.
