I know some humans (or maybe they're chimps!) with extreme body hair, that eat shite, and swing through trees, so maybe its not the 3%?
Just because chimps are similar to humans genetically doesn't mean they act anything like humans or look anything like humans. Remember that your genes are only the instructions for life. The proteins that are made can be completely different. The environment affects these changes drammatically. And the species differences alone account for huge differences.
Who says Humans don't have disgusting body hair. And I don't think Chimps eat poop, but they do fling it.

It's not them that's 97% human, it's their DNA. That means that their body makeup is 97% similar, not necessarily the way their brains work. And remember, one little change in DNA can make somebody mentally retarded or unable to live. 3% can mean a lot.

There is no God. Animals evolve. We are animals. The fact that chimps are 97%homologous to us is an act species evolution. we developed sentience the other animals didn't. The only reason we can have this kind of discourse is that we have developed the ability of abstract thought..for example we are 50%homologous to bananas that doesnt mean that we resemble them bt 50 %

I don't believe we have the right to say that something is disgusting, because we usually only look down on actions that we don't engage in. Though many things that we do might be considered disgusting we of course wouldn't think so, because if we did we wouldn't do it. We only have the right to judge ourselves.

The 3% is brain and body development. Humans have learned to build houses with central heating, so we don't need fur, but chimps haven't.

Sorry but they are 98.4% like us and humans have more body hair than chimps. You see, chimps are adaapted for the forest, and eating bugs, well guess what, tribes in places like Australia do it, and sometimezs they are put in gormet food.
