Is it impossible for it to snow on the equator?
Answers:
Given the warm atmosphere, the ocean current, and global warming effect, it is rare that snow occurs along the equator. The water precipitation can not remain cold enough to stay in the form of snow. However, it might be more possible to have hail storms in the equaters.

Probably on a mountain.
nothing is impossible in this mad world
The way the climate is changing nothing is impossible.
no,kilmanjiro gets snow on its peak.
no, it's not impossible, there are mountains down there too
Of course not. Pass over the Equator while heading north or south over the Andes and there will be snow
It is not impossible and it does snow on the equator - regularly!
A good example is Kilimanjaro in Kenya this mountain can often be seen with snow on it. Although it is a little way from the equator the distance is not great.
The confusion comes because the equator is seen as the hottest place (which it nearly is). But nights can be cold and the higher the altitude the colder it gets. Hence snow does fall on the equator.
It snows almost everywhere on the planet, even at the equator.
Like there are parts of the poles considered to be deserts even with the fact that your walking on a couple hundred feet of snow at times.
Our world is very random.
no i actually dose snow on the mountians. it can snow anywhere in the world as long as it's high up.
The guy from Mad Magazine is correct, it also snows on the Andes in South America (Mt. Chimborazo in Ecuador for example). With global warming however, the mountain glaciers all over the world as in retreat.
no
If it can snow in the uk in "flaming" June, and it has, it can snow on the equator. :-) (height from, as well as lateral distance from, the equator, being the most influencial factor.)
Yes when is ice age
nope mount kilamanjaro (probably not the right spelling) is nearly on the equator and is snow capped as it is so high
also the andes
it snow's all the time on the equator and not only on high ground,
take a look at the wikipedia site
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/equator.
Carstenz Pyramid in Irian Jaya, Indonesia also has glaciers and is very close to the Equator.
No by all means snow is possible if given the right Altitude.
Of course. The Equator passes through the Andes.
