(14X3-5%+13squared)DIVIDE BY 0.2 =?
answer to last calculation 46
Answers:
1044.5
46 isn't what I get.
(14*3-5%+13^2)/0.2 = 1054.75
1+0+5+4+7+5 = 22
Edit: It seems the 46 refers to a previous question of yours. It'd be less confusing if you posted it there.
do your own damn homework!
1044.5
1044.5

Is this a question on one of this stupid TV quiz channels ?

hmmm

but i did maths o level about 30 years ago..
Some of the answers given are misleading. The correct order in which to do these operations is:
(14x3 -5% +13^2) / 0.2
= (42 -5% +13^2) / 0.2
= (39.9 +13^2) / 0.2
= (39.9 + 169) / 0.2
= (208.9) / 0.2
= 1044.5
1 + 0 + 4 + 4 + 5 = 14
Strictly speaking the answer is 1044.5
(14 x 3 - 5% + 13 squared) / 0.2
= (42-5% + 169) / 0.2
= (39.9 + 169) / 0.2
= 208.9 / 0.2
= 1044.5
1+0+4+4+5 = 14
How's that?
(That's going by the BIDMAS rule - Brackets, Indicies, Divide, Multiply, Add, Subtract, so first you do everything in the brackets, i.e. leave the divide by 0.2 until very last, then you take the indicies, i.e. square the 13 = 169, then division, there isn't any within the brackets, then multiplication, i.e. 14x3 = 42, then addition and subtraction, so take 5% off 42 = 39.9, then add the 169. So you end up with 208.9 inside the brackets, divide that by 0.2 to get 1044.5. How did you get 46?)
