How was helium discovered if its lighter than air?

Answers:
Yes it was indeed discovered in the sun's spectrum before it was discovered on earth.
Terrestrial helium is formed from radioactive decay (it is an alpha particle that has picked up two electrons). Most helium is extracted from natural gas (methane). There is something of a current shortage of helium due to its extensive use producing low temperatures (liquid helium) to cause superconductivity. Superconducting magnets are use in magnetic resonance imaging.
It was first discovered in the absorption spectrum of the sun - that's why it's called helium (Greek helios=sun).
through experimentation, in a laboratory it was created and it's properties observed.
i really dont know
I think that it was a mistake whilst researching for another gas, there have been many mistakes that have turned out to our advantage
It was discovered by a very clever pigeon.
when you talk your voice is higher
Not sure how it was discovered but I do know it is lighter than air, that is why a balloon filled with helium floats.
First discovered on the sun because of its distinctive spectrum. Hence named after the Greek for sun ηλιος or helios.
It is produced on Earth in small amounts due to the radioactive decay of certain elements.
Somebody took a baloon full and breathed it in,he shot up so fast his keks come off (very small penis)
completley by error was this gas discovered
