If i drilled a big hole in the ground from my garden in Hertfordshire, where would i eventually end up?
Answers:
Well let me see..YOU WOULD STILL END IN YOUR GARDEN..
Lets see,if you had the technology(and the time) to drill through to the centre of earth, practically you would never cross it.The molten lava would melt you and your drill. So scientifically speaking you wouldnt end anywhere on the surface of earth except the core of earth or back to your garden.
DO ONE THING DRILL A SMALL HOLE and PUT SOME FLOWERS IN IT..IT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER FOR YOUR GARDEN ;-)
when the lava started spewing it would feel like hell ( sorry no globe in the office )
in the dark
Death Spud
Dead...eventually you would reach a point where you and your drill would melt, somewhere right after all the oxygen in your lungs ignited..and your skin melted..etc..
Probably splattered all over Hertfordshire when you rupture the gas mains!
If you mean the other side of the world, probably the Pacific ocean!
Your a*s.
Down a big hole
in a big hole in the ground or maybe an asylum. Give a shot, see what happens! Good Luck!
In a big hole in your garden in Hertfordshire. Theoretically, you'd come out somewhere in the South Pacific, but in reality, you'd never really drill that far would you?
globe+long skewer+ precise peircing action=answer
China.everyone knows that
dead somewhere near the molten lava core of the earth.
If it were truly possible to dig a hole directly through the earth, this Web site will help you determine where you would end up:

Of course, I'm pretty certain that it's dependent on your hole being straight through, and who knows, if it were possible, if the hole would be straight through or if there'd be twists and turns in there somewhere!
Jail..unless you possess mining rights!
In the core of the earth, melted into non-existence.
erm......
deep deep down in a hole in ur garden!
You would end up sleeping in your garden in Hertfordshire, very tired from all that drilling.
In trouble, as you don't own the ground all the way down to the center of the earth. It is Crown Property ( not to be confused with Royal Property) ie Government Mineral Rights.
In court
A prison cell. Oh sorry! we don't have any left!
Dead.
What you are looking for is the antipodal point for your location. There's a great tool available online for free using Google Maps to do this:

In your case, the answer is SE of New Zealand. Use the tool to see more exactly.
Technically you would still be standing in your garden in Hertfordshire, but the drill bit would be going deeper in the ground.
Pretending you could actually make it through the center of the earth, somewhere in the middle of the ocean near new zealand's campbell island in the south pacific, close to the south of mainland new zealand
Well, you couldn't dig a hole bigger than the one dug by John Prescott and he's ended up with two Jags and a bit on the side.
Sitting on top of the only active volcano in Britain!
I assume that you are trying to dig through to the other side. As you went deeper gravitational forces would reduce, consequently, you would eventually fall back out of the hole. Even if that wasn't the case, toxic gases and temperature increase would kill you.
You would end up in a big hole.
No you can't dig a hole through the earth.
IN A GRAVE BED
probably in Jail, unless you have a permit to drill. if you do have permission, you'll end down the bottom of a well in Hertfordshire.
