Does the earth's mass ever change?

Answers:
The earths mass is constantly changing. The solar wind brings particles into the upper atmosphere and can also blow away some of the upper atmosphere. This happens at different rates depending on the activity on the suns surface.

Small Meteorites reach the earth and although not much bigger than marbles these small stones add to the mass.

Volcanoes can eject dust particles high into the upper atmosphere and some of these small solids can be caught by the solar wind and taken into space.

There are many other events that effect the mass. Consider the space shots sending a craft away from earth into deep space.

Thus the earths mass is always changing albeit in infinitely small ways.
Had this question before.
i reckon it must do - things from space (asteroids & the like) come down and we burn stuff - not very scientifc i know - sorry
It may gain a minute amount with the fall-out from space born debris.
Yes, it does, due to the "dust" from space coming down on earth each day.
It is said to be several tons of dust each day.
there is space dust that come through to earth but not enough to really chance the mass of earth and the stuff used to make all the satellites and stuff is also not enough to make a chance
Yes, at one time it was thought the earth would overload and sink from the space debris, but than Scotty adjusted the transporter and beamed the stuff back to space.
yes its always change
G'day Gary Addison,

Thank you for your question.

The earths mass does change but it is imperceptible.

Regards
couple of kilograms of space dust falls on earth everday
The earth's mass increases by about 100,000 tons per year from micrometeorites, meteors, etc.
Yes Earth's mass slowly does change due to reproduction but only by a fraction of a fraction of a possible fraction.
It is increasing day by day not only because of astral objects falling to earth but also because the sun rays are converted to matter by plants and this also have a considerable part to incerase the weight of earth
yes the earths mass has been getting bigger all the time. we
are all walking four feet higher than the egyptians
being as the definition of mass is the amount of matter contained in a body then it must change constantly.
Daily! - As it is the massess who are destroying it!
yes I heard that it increases about 100,000 tons a year but it is already overweight so it's thinking of going on a diet
