How do plants get the substance it needs for photosynthesis?

how do the plants get the susbstance for photosynthesis?

Answers:
Photosynthesis is the process plants use to make them green, the properties needed are absorbed from the sun by the plant. Haven't got a clue how though sorry.
From sunlight.
Well, Theres CO2 which they suck in through small holes, Sunlight which they soak up, And H2O which they suck in through the roots.
the buildup of sugars from carbon dioxide and water by green plants using energy from sunlight, which is absorbed by chlorophyll.
Look at www.bbc.co.uk/schools. In the Bitesize you will find a much better and easier description than anything I could give.
They take in carbon dioxide,which is needed for the process,by the stomata moslty found on the underside of leaves.The chlorophyll traps light energy and the roots take in water from the soil.Carbon dioxide+Water+Light=Sugar
For photosynthesis to occur, a plant needs water, certain minerals and light. Water and minerals come from the soil, transported through the roots, up the outside of the trunk and branches and to the leaves. The light comes from the sun.
Plants require water and Carbon Dioxide for photosynthesis. They obtain water through the roots through osmosis (the water travels from areas with lots of water to areas with less water) and Carbon dioxide is obtained through the leaves.
by using the sunrays and transforming it into energy
6CO2 + 6H2O ---> C6H12O6 + 6O2
(sunlight)

The carbin dioxide is obtained through the stomata on the underside of the leaves. The water which is required enters th roots via osmosis. Hexose sugar(glucose) and oxygen are the products.
Plants are called autotrophs. which means that they can produce their own food or product by means of photosynthesis which is known as the glocose and their stored energy is known as the starch. The substances that the plant needs in pothosynthesis are carbon dioxide, water and sunlight.. Plants get carbon dioxide from the animals and in return, they produce oxygen for us. (in the respiration process). And the water and the sunlight is from nature of course.
Water, Air and sunlight
Photosynthesis is the process by which plants, some bacteria, and some protistans use the energy from sunlight to produce sugar, which cellular respiration converts into ATP, the "fuel" used by all living things. The conversion of unusable sunlight energy into usable chemical energy, is associated with the actions of the green pigment chlorophyll. Most of the time, the photosynthetic process uses water and releases the oxygen that we absolutely must have to stay alive. Oh yes, we need the food as well!
Well plants have clorophyll within their leaves which is essential for photsynthesis to take place. They then absorb C02 from the atmosphere thru the leaves and also water from the ground via the roots which allows them to make food and release oxygen
