Is it true that the daddy longs legs is the most venomous creature on the planet?

If yes, what happens if i eat one?

Answers:
There is an urban legend stating that Daddy long-legs spiders have the most potent venom of any spider, but that their chelicera (fangs) are either too small or too weak to puncture human skin; the same legend is also repeated of the harvestman, also called "Daddy Longlegs" in some locales. Indeed, pholcid spiders do have a short fang structure (called uncate). However, brown recluse spiders also have uncate fang structure, but are able to deliver potentially fatal bites. Either pholcid venom is not toxic to humans or there is a musculature difference between the two arachnids, with recluses, being hunting spiders, possessing stronger muscles for fang penetration.

Pholcid venom has never been scientifically tested on mammals. This would normally require milking the spiders and injecting the venom into humans or mice. In any case, there are no known cases of a pholcid spider ever biting a human and causing any serious effects.

In 2004 the Discovery Channel show MythBusters set out to test the daddy long-legs myth (season 1, episode 13 "Buried in Concrete"). After measuring the spider's fangs at approximately 0.25 mm (average human skin thickness is about 0.10 mm) the show's host was apparently bitten, although the bite produced little more than a mild short-lived burning sensation. This appears to confirm the suspicion that pholcids can penetrate human skin, but that their venom is practically harmless to humans. Additionally, recent research has shown that pholcid venom is actually relatively weak in its effects on insects as well.
You can eat it if you want and see what happens for the sake of science lol
nope,its a myth,watched a show about it...i know....worst you could get would be a little pince of a bite
Yes it is but they cant bite so cant inject any venom. I dont what would happen if you ate one but I dont suggest doing it!
they are harmless!! nice to have around to take care of other insects
Daddy Long Legs' venom is not harmful to humans. The Black Mamba snake is the most venomous creature on earth.
Not true.
no it's not true. To prove it I just found a daddy long leg spider and provoked him to bite me. That was 5 minutes agooooooooo o o annnddnndddddddd iiiII f33eefllle3l fineeee (thud)
Don't eat one that's gross!! But anyway daddy Longlegs are Harmless and often eat other Insects that could be in your house. So Actually they are your friend. If you find one pick it up gently on a plate or piece of paper and release it oustside in some Bushes. No need to kill it.
my cat eats them regularly, they have never bitten her that I know of, and she seems to like eating them.
no, they did it on Mythbusters i think
The humble crane fly? Or are you in another country..
Why would you want to eat a spider in the first place? and I've heard that they are but their fangs are too small to bite you with.
no, they are quite harmless!
whats the point if it cant use it?
They are, but they dont have the ability to bite or sting!

This may help you
Good luck ..
No -that's an urban legend
its the venimous SPIDER
If you ate about a pound of them they would make you quite ill, but you probably wouldn't die. However, take big bite out of a cane toad just behind it's head, and you'll be dead in seconds.
If you're in England and asking about the crane fly - then yes, it's venom is extremely toxic to humans - but it can't penetrate our skin so we're not in danger.

What would happen if you ate one?

Why would you ever want to eat one? - Ick - I can't imagine it would do you any harm, but - ew - I'd rather eat a snail - actually I wouldn't - I'd rather go hungry!
More rhubarb!
Yes, it is true - from a certain point of view. By volume, the venom of a daddy long legs is one of the most toxic.
However, the daddy long legs does not have fangs long enough or strong enough to pierce human skin, nor would they be able to inject you with a high enough quantity of venom for it to be lethal.

By the way, over the course of your life, the average person swallows eight spiders during their sleep.
Daddy long legs at least in Great Britain usually means a crane fly. They certainly are not venomous at all as far as I know. As all they do is sip liquids it's hard to see why they should be. If you mean the spider Pholcus (a longlegged spider obviously without wings, unlike a crane fly) like all/most spiders they are venomous but not sufficiently to harm humans. For a really venomous spider look in an Australian outside loo and find a black web-building spider with red markings and if you provoke it to bite you you will get very sick and perhaps die.
No
If you boil it enough, I think you'll abide, because the poison should be a protein or something, which will eventually be broke down. If you were brave enough to test the idea, please keep us posted of the results.
**** Luck!
Are you talking about the spider or the crane fly..?
It certainly is not, the box jellyfish is the worlds most poisonous animal, the black mamba as mentioned above isnt even close the worlds most venomous snake is the inland taipan os Austalia, though the black mamba is the fastest.
