Do hedgehogs suffer from cancer?
Answers:
My cat who died had Squamous Cell Cancer. My sister-in-law had two Golden Retrievers die of Cancer. They use rats mice for cancer research. Safe bet that hedgehogs get it too.
Animals with short lifespan usually don't have time to die from cancer, even if they should get it.
Only if they smoke 40 Bensons a day
I'm sure they do. Essentially all complex life forms are susceptible to cancer. Any myths you've heard about sharks being immune to cancer are just that: Myths. However, it is true that some life forms have better immune systems than others, so while they would get cancer, it would pose less of a danger to them. I'm not sure how hedgehog immune systems in particular work, but they're probably much like ours considering we're both mammals.
i've seen it on Animal Planet
they can get it, i dunno if they suffer from it
yeh they do but that dude has a point so maybe if they watch microwaves or not use sunscreen they'll get cancer
No idea .!! DO SOME RESEARCH, perhaps in National Geographic you might find the answer to your question, - sorry i can't help.!!
anything that is a live can have cancer..but its unlikley unless you have a pet and its affected by human activity
No reason for them to be immune.
The fact of life is that DNA is subject to mutation. Indeed, if DNA did not mutate, we would not be here. Cancer is simply the result of some types of deleterious mutations in DNA.
Since hedgehogs made of living cells which store their information in DNA, they can suffer from cancer.
they are gay
Cancer is very common in hedgehogs. The most common is squamous cell carcinoma. Squamous cell spreads quickly from the bone to the organs in hedgehogs, unlike in humans. Surgery to remove the tumors is rare because it would result in removing too much bone structure.
