Why does uranus take longer than earth to orbit the sun?

Answers:
Because its farther away. Planetary orbits are not circular but you can still think about it in terms of a circle. The longer the radius of the circle, the larger the circumference.
further away
because it is farther
Because it's located further away from the sun.
Because of it's place in the solar system.
It is much farther from the sun so the distance of it's orbit is much longer.
What are you talking about?

My anus revolves around earth every 24 hours and around the sun every 365 days!!!
wat did you say about my sons anus. Just kidding. I think it is because it is farthe away from the sun than earth so that means it's orbut is much larger and therefore takes a lot longer
My anus hasn't been anywhere near your sun!
Because it's further away from the sun.
its got a bigger circle to go round cos its further away
cos its further away. why does it take you longer to run around your house than to run around you bedroom?
There are two reasons, both related to its distance from the Sun. Earth's orbit is much shorter than that of Uranus, because we are a lot closer to the Sun (Uranus is more than 19 times as far, making its orbit a lot longer). On top of that, the further a planet is from the Sun, the weaker the Sun's gravity pulls on it, so it moves slower. Earth moves about 18.5 miles per second. Mercury isthe fastest at about 30 mps.
it is further away from the sun.
Uranus is both farther from the sun (thus travels a longer path), AND,
it travels slower than the earth.

being farther from the sun, it has more energy, but it's potential energy, rather than kinetic energy.
The planets move in an orbit that is slightly different from a circle called an elliptical orbit. The farther away it is from the sun. The wider the radius is so its like the difference b/w the time it takes to go round a small circle and a much bigger one.
Also the sun exerts a magnetic force on the planets causing them to spin in their orbit, the further away it is the less the force. so the uranus which is farther away from the sun will spin slower than the earth. Hope this is sufficient
Further away!!!!!
Keplars third law states the the ratio of the cube of the distance and the square of the period is constant for any planet within the system. As Uranus is much further from the sun than the earth its period much be longer.

The bit in you answer about the sun magnetic field causing planets to spin is complete b*****ocks.

Look, it always USED to be called you-rain-us, then we got po-faced about bottoms and now we have to call it ewe-ran-us!
It's like the word 'gay' which used to mean happy, got hi-jacked. PC brigade please give us back our language..?
Because the Earth is nearer to the sun than Uranus.

its radius from the sun is greater than that of the earth. therefore the distance it has to orbit is greater. and in this case and most, the more further away something is the longer it takes to get there.
