How come glue doesnt set in the tube?

i know its probably a stupid question, but hey..i dont know the answer

Answers:
because the tube is air tight, glue sets when its exposed to air
because it to do with the air particles
It needs to chemically react with air
I guess it is because when it mixes with the air it causes a chemical reaction and sets, if there is no air in the tube it can't and won't
its vacuumed packed so no air in there to dry it.
I really look forward to these questions..they are the kind I ask.

Most glues set when exposed to air, and the materials the tubes are made out of.(usually tin) are unreactive to the glue.
For glue to become a solid it has to oxidise. so that if you left the lid off your glue tube, then the end of it would harden.. so with the lid on, no oxygen gets into the tube and hardens the glue so that the glue stays in liquid form.

But hey, im no scientist!
its what's inside
Most adhesives need to react with air to work.
I'm guessing it has to do with moisture. If you leave the top off of the glue bottle it will set in there because all the moisture in the glue will evaporate. If you keep the bottle closed, then the glue doesnt' set because air can't dry it out.
it does kind of stick, if you dont use it for a long time it gets difficult to twist it up. friction keeps it from sticking to the sides i think
I hate it when the crazy glue does that.
