Wouldn't it have been easier to just put:
Age: 18. IQ: 136.
136 (IQ) divided by 100 equals 1.36
1.36 multiplied by 18 (age) equals 24.48
24.48 is your mental age.
Simple!
My answer, by the way, is:
Age: 29. IQ: 129. Mental age: 37.41.

This formula and concept of mental age is used FOR CHILDREN. It doesn't mean anything to say that an 18 year old like myself has an mental age of 25. The concept of the mental age is more meaningful the younger the child is; it means more to say that an 5 year old has the mind of a 10 year old than it does to say that a 15 year old has the mind of a 20 year old. By mind I mean cognitive capacity, not emotional maturity, which has little to do with intelligence. By the age of 18, cognitive development has leveled- off, so it no longer makes sense to speak of a ratio IQ and instead a percentile IQ is used to measure intellectual ability. A percentile IQ is simply an arbitrarily assigned IQ value to a certain percentile score on an IQ test; for example, an 80 percentile score may correspond to an IQ of 125.
