If the world is constantly expanding, then what are we expanding into?

Answers:
I think the universe is expanding, not the world. Not sure anyone really knows what the Universe is expanding into.
The world is not expanding!

The universe is BOZO!
A short term of over population- probably
yes due to the gravitational pull from surrounding factors.
You watch to much tele!
my be into the universe
Space :)
The world (Earth) isn't expanding. The Universe is. And it's not expanding into anything. It's creating the space as it goes along. Yes, that's hard to wrap your head around and outside our everyday experience. But that's what appears to be happening.

Think of making two marks on the surface of a balloon. As you blow the balloon up the dots get farther away, not because the dots are moving around on the surface of the balloon, but because the space between them is expanding. Not a perfect analogy, but one of the best I've heard.
I agree with middenmaker. You watch far too much tv. Maybe you should go into teaching? I believe there is a national shortage.
I often think about this.

How can it not end? It must end somewhere?

If it does end there must be something beyond that though?

The mind boggles.
I`m expanding into my pants, if that helps
I believe the universe is expanding into a timeless, matterless, colourless, invisible, infinite neverending place.
Heat Death

Google or SEARCH Yahoo! heat death

and see ILYA PRIGOGINE.

Basically a chaos mathemathecian like Poincare.

,, the entropy here is Hawking's entropy ,, read as if entropy = atomic events

extract goes **
The 'heat-death' of the universe is when the universe has reached a state of maximum entropy. This happens when all available energy (such as from a hot source) has moved to places of less energy (such as a colder source). Once this has happened, no more work can be extracted from the universe. Since heat ceases to flow, no more work can be acquired from heat transfer. This same kind of equilibrium state will also happen with all other forms of energy (mechanical, electrical, etc.). Since no more work can be extracted from the universe at that point, it is effectively dead, especially for the purposes of humankind.
This is a very common question:
The Universe is a multidimesional manifold made up of hundreds of thousands of dimensions, it is not the world that is expanding, it is the space between large gravitaionally bound groups of galaxies that is expanding forcing the Universe as a whole to have the appearance of expanding.

What we are expanding into is a set of billions of higher dimensions that sort of have the consistency of tapioca pudding.
If the universe is expanding, its likely its expanding into Space.

Space did and does mean 'room', 'where something can go'.

Outer Space is called space which it is but its not empty. So whatever is beyond the universe, unless its a solid is Space. Even if it was a solid, if the universe is expanding then the solid must be moving to give space for the universe, therefore either way, space is beyond there.

Infinity and eternity are hard to comprehend yea ? lol, but they are real. As kids people always think, if you go through space as far as you can imagine, ,aybe theres a wall, but whats behind it ? lol.
Even if you go out one side and come back in the other, if you viewed the universe from above and watched someone go to one side and appear at the other, whats just past the edge ?
Lifes pretty interesting aint it !?
the world is not expanding instead the space between them is expanding. for xample;- u take a rubber band as the space and stick few pins as the celestial body and then stretch the rubber band....u will see that the distance between 2 objects is expanding and not the world.
Gary88:

Nothing is colourless, white is even a colour. Space has to be some colour.
the word does not expand, the universe expands.
it is expanding into nothing to make something
