Where does a camel store its water? (not in its hump/s!)?
Answers:
Camals store water as fat - so a large percentage of it is in its hump. In times of drought, the camal metabolises its fat reserves and breaks down the fat molecules - this is called a condensation reaction because in doing this it forms water. So technically speaking, a camal stores its water anywhere it has fat - its just that its largest reserve of this is its hump.
must be to do with the size of there bladders
In its blood; like any mammal organism. Though, when the hump tissue is metabolized it can yield an enormous proportion of water to tissue.
in it's hump, as a fatty compound type stuff..i think
it stores water in its belly and fat in its hump(s). also it gets its water from cactus es because they store gallons of water in their trunk. the Camel can get to this because it has very tough lips. its hooves are thick so it does not sink in the sand and its eye lashes prevent it from getting sand in its eye. so that's why it is built for the desert.
sorry if i went a bit over bored but that's what i know about camels.
A camel has a distinctive adaptation in its stomach. the lining is full of little sacs where it stores water
They store water in their fats of the hump!
In fat, in its humps, I think.
