Fractional distillation?

err.randomly boring question but does anyone know ANYTHING about fractional distillation?!

Answers:
Indeed; when different liquids are mixed, they can be separated by this process. Each liquid has its own boiling point. In fractional distillation, the temperature is brought to the temperature of the substance of the lowest boiling point, then distilled off. The temperature is raised and the process is repeated. Oil refineries use this process; called cracking, wherein a tall reaction chamber is used and the low boiling point substances are removed from the top and the lowest at the bottom. Hope this helps.
It is the process of heating up a mixture of compounds and then cooling them down in a container which has a temperature gradient so that you can separate elements with different boiling points and collect them. Petrol is obtained this way from crude oil.
Fractional distillation is the separation of a mixture into its component parts, or fractions, such as in separating chemical compounds by their boiling point by heating them to a temperature at which several fractions of the compound will evaporate. It is a special type of distillation.
It's to do with temperature, and at what rate the distillates come off. Commercially it's done in a tower.

Personally, its from drinkable at the top, to killing you and fuelling a car at the bottom.

I'm not a chemist, but good luck!
it doesnt produce anything, it seperates whatever substances you have that have different boiling points.
