If you were to fart while traveling at the speed of sound, would you smell it before you heard it?
and would it be easier to blame someone else?

You'd never smell it, you'd leave it behind, but everyone else on the ground would hear a massive bang! Even if it was a silent but deadly.

if you were sitting on a seat in concorde travelling at mach 1 or above, then you would hear it, smell it and then get derisory looks from your neighbours. followed by the snotty nosed kid behind you saying:
"he who smelt it dealt it"
to which you would reply:
"he who supplied it denied it"
