Why don't humans crave raw meat, when all other carnivorous animals do?

Answers:
Hello,

YES! good question and I think the answer lies way back in our genetic past i.e. thousands of years ago. I think that if you look at human evolution (in the darwinian sense of evolution) you will find that the very earliest human ancestors where tree & ground welling creatures and their diets were essentially vegetarian & it was only later on when we reach the ice age & stone age man did meat eating start to take place. i.e. plenty of wooly mamoths to kill and eat.

**So in my opinion humans are first and foremost vegetarians (even to day) & we were never meant to really eat meat to begin with in our evolutionary past. But after the stone age such as cromanion those people who came after the neanderthals we became meat eaters as man moved into & became hunter gathers not just gathers as we had been before.

IR
we do......
Maybe we are just conditioned to eat meat cooked?
All other carnivorous animals actually crave cooked meat.
They just haven't discovered how to build fires yet.
Humans are not natural carnivors. Our teeth and digestive system are more suitable for raw fruits, nuts, berries and vegetables. Humans don't have the physical stamina to kill wild animals with claws and teeth. They do have fingers that easily pick berries and fruits.
taste and smooth ness
because if they craved cooked meat they wouldn't have anything to cook it on - would they?!
humans are not carnivores they are omnivores ie eating meat cereals vegetables and anything else we like we eat our meat cooked because it tastes better
uh duh the ability to light a fire and cook ,with spices and use utensils ,,, steak tar tar sushi , other animals would cook there meat if they could,,, my dog loves my cooking compared to raw
I do crave meat, especially when I'm lacking iron. I even have a sister in law who is a vegetarian and has admitted to craving meat every once in awhile, although she chooses not to allow these cravings to control her.

How often have you heard someone say "I'm in the mood for a steak". They are craving meat.
(This'll bring out the vegetarian brigade !)
We do crave meat - try living on lettuce for a month and see how much you really waaaannt that steak ! Drrool !

We crave it less than other carniverous animals because we have adapted our diet to accept vegetable and plant matter as well. Most other carnivores only eat meat and cannot digest plant matter. (That's why we define them as carniverous.)
