Why is the answer to multiplication called 'product'?

Answers:
Well, the idea of the answer being a product of numbers when multiplied does suffice. In advance math, the process is far more complicated. But the prinicple is the same. Example:
2x(-2) = a -4x
Where 2x(2x) =4x squared.
Or 2x(2) = 4x.
Once these little ideas are mastered, the rest begins to fall together.
The main thing for me is to have fun with maths, and not think the learning a chore!
The only product I know of is China white bro, and I just was playing cards with Tony Montana, and he also says that is the only product he has heard of. I hope this helps.

Because you almost always "produce" a new number! Except if both the numbers are 1
Because the dude that made up math called it that.
maybe the 2nd answer is correct since every time you multiply a number, you always increase/decrease the value of its number depend on the number it multiply to, to make a new number
Because it's the 'produce' of your calculation, in singular terms.
You have to distinguish it from the SUM of two or more numbers.
