Question: Describe the properties of acids and bases
My answer is
acids are substances which form H+ (aq) ions when they are added to water. They are known as proton donors. Bases are also called alkalis, and are substances which form OH - (aq) ions when added to water. They are known as proton acceptors.
All acids have conjugate bases which are the particles that are left over when the acid has given away it's proton. All bases have conjugate acids which are the particles that are made once the proton has been received.
My question to you all is Does my answer firstly answer the original question and secondly is it explained enough to get at least a B grade for as level assessed work?

some in your answer arent factual but for as level if ur aiming for B grade they are good enough. but properties of acid arent restricted to its behaviour in aq solution, u may want to list some of the chemical reactions (neutralisation etc)
That is a good answer. I would also include the Lewis definition however which defines acids as electron pair acceptors and bases and electron pair donors.
