Please help me simplify this formula, step by step?

0+(n-1)1+1/2(n-1)(n-2)1

i really need a step by step guide. the 1/2 counts as a half. please help. and thank yo u if you take the time to do so.

Answers:
0+(n-1)1+1/2(n-1)(n-2)1
You can just ignore the 1's and drop the zero
(n-1) + (1/2)(n-1)(n-2)
= n - 1 + (1/2)(n^2 -2n -n + 2)
Combine -2n and -n
= n - 1 + (1/2)(n^2 - 3n + 2)
Distribute the 1/2
n - 1 + (1/2)n^2 - (3/2)n + 1
Combine like terms
(1/2)n^2 + (n - (3/2)n) + (-1+1)
= (1/2)n^2 - (1/2)n

OOO cheating on homework!!
Cant condone that!
0+(n-1)1 +1/2(n-1)(n-2)1

(n-1)+1/2(n^2-3n+2)
n-1 + (n^2)/2 -(3n)/2 +1

(n^2)/2 -n/2

i.e n squared over 2 - n over 2
0+(n-1)1+1/2(n-1)(n-2)1 distribute 1 & multibly binomials
0+n-1+(1/2)(n^2-4n+4 drop the 0 & distribute 1/2
n-1+n^2/2-2n+2 combine like terms
n^2/2-n+1
hey what is this in relation to?
0+(n-1)1+1/2(n-1)(n-2)1
=(n-1)+1/2(n-1)(n-2)eliminate 0,1
=(n-1)(1+1/2(n-2))make(n-1) a factor
=(n-1)(1+1/2n-1)simplify inside brackets
=(n-1)(1/2n)simplify brackets further
=n(n-1)/2: done

i hope that this helps
