Have you ever farted in a bath of
beans? If so, how long did it take
to surface?

Answers:
I farted in a bath of treacle, the bubble is yet to surface. Eventually the treacle will harden and it will be preserved for future generations. It should fester sufficiently to provide a rich gas seam that will power a small town for a week.
Gross !!
Rent "Tommy" when you get a chance. You will love the bean scene.
This sounds like a half-baked idea.
yuk!!!!!
Yeah - did it last night - I bath in beans all of the time. The fact that I was in beans actually just contributed to the power, velocity and stench of the fart - I covered myself in bean juice in 6.78 seconds flat. (Based on no scientific evidence or experiment what-so-ever). Fool.
Couldn't you have a least tried to come up with something better?
Yes, in a sense, though I'd have to qualify the meaning of 'bath' (you didn't specify "bathTUB").

When I much younger, I was a rather tiny fellow. While in summer camp, there were outdoor game days including food competitions (not eating, but competing using the food). I don't remember the objective, but one of the competitions involved jumping into large pots full of various foods (most notably spaghetti with tomato sauce, but one was beans) then the rest of the team carried the pot somewhere. Since I did this competition every year for several years in a row, I am certain I farted at some point.

Unfortunately, I couldn't tell you how long it took to surface, but I would suspect it didn't take much longer than it would take to surface through water alone. Conversely, I can imagine a fart getting stuck in the spaghetti if the sauce was thick enough.

More importantly, though, what on Earth made you think of this and why is its surfacing time significant? Please feel free to drop a note in the 'add details' box.
