Why does gravity pull in differnt directions?
why does gravity on earth pull to the centre of the world but the gravity of the sun forces us to go around the sun and be part of the solar system.
Answers:
gravity is the attraction of atoms to one another, gravity is stronger the larger the object and stronger the closer the object. therfore you being relativley small but so close to the earth means that you are pulled to the earth's surface at an acceleration of 9.8 meters per second per second. however because the sun is so far away the gravitational force does not affect you however the earth and the sun are so large that they attract each other.
hope this was helpful
gravity is the force of attraction of any object..objects with bigger mass have higher amounts of gravity. The earth has enough gravity to keep us all on but the sun has so much gravity that it keeps the planets in orbit around it. It's not so much that gravity pulls different directions as tehere are several things that exert a noticible amount of gravity
If the Sun's gravity was not pulling on the Earth our planet would travel in a straight line out into deep space, instead of orbiting the Sun.
Earth's speed forward is fast enough to keep Earth from being pulled into the Sun.
Both of these situations would end all life here within a few days.
Be thankful that it is this way.
The plants all have heir own seperate gravity not just the sun and earth is too big to just be flown straight into the sun, small asteroids though collide with the sun all the time. It also has to do with how the galaxy was created because the planets all had a speed.
Because you are always attracted to the center of mass of an object. That is why we are attracted toward the center of the Earth and why everything on Earth is attracted to the center of the sun; accept in this case, the fact that the Earth is moving makes us orbit. Which is good because otherwise we would be cooked by the suns heat.
The sun and the earth have their own gravitational fields, and both pull things towards them. Anything with mass has its own gravity - a person, a rock, a moon, planet, star or galaxy. Ours is infinitesimally tiny though, compared to that of the earth - which isn't even that strong if you think about it - we can get up and walk about, we don't just get crushed against the surface (unless we fall off a tall building)
The sun has it's own gravity that pulls towards the center of it. It's force pulls us towards it. It doesn't pull us to go around it. There's another force called inertia. This is the tendency of a body to remain at rest or, once moving, to keep moving in a straight line. The Earth wants to move in a straight line, but the sun's gravity keeps pulling us towards it. We don't crash into it because we trying to go straight, the result is we revoluve around it
