Why do people always try to fix something that is broken?
i.e. a broken heart, a broken table, a broken spirit
Answers:
Because it makes them look clever/proactive/in control/doing something, etc.
It can be annoying and it can be pathetic but it's part of the human condition, I'm afraid.
PS Oddly enough, the question would work just as well if it said, "something that is NOT broken"!
Biscuits? I doubt it..

human nature. we also wish we could go back and do it all differently too at times.
Because, I do not like to see broken things. I like to fix things, I guess. Would you rather to leave things broken, or just wait awhile to see if it will fix itself. Good Luck. Sounds like you are really hurting. So sorry.
Well, if it's not broken, fix it until it is!
you can't fix it if it isn't broken (you can try though). it is part of our innate need for order, structure and completeness.
For ones you need tools, for others anything better than Stools.
Well like what if your computer broke down and you had to finish your taxes.
I think it is either a learned habit or genetic. It is just natural for us to try. I think it is a useful skill as it usually means we give things our all, thus when we have to concede we can have no regrets.
so it aint broken anymore
when Jesus was on earth his physical job was a Carpenter. fixing things is a comfort to man. we cant always fix everything but we can try to fix the things that we can.
because most of the time it can be fixed
There is a fable although it's fake it carries a very important lesson. The story of Adam and Eve is about a couple seeking perfection by eating fruit that would make them more perfect and powerful. That is what humans constantly strive for is perfection convinced that the situation at the time is not good enough. People feel depressed with a broken heart and thus seek to heal it to dull the pain. A broken spirit when a person is worn out and no longer sees the point in life is sometime helped by another person to see them live a prosperous life. If someone can afford a new table they have to fix the old one to rest stuff on it lol.
Hope my answer helped.
