Why do I lack motivation?
I start things and never finish them. I am interested in everything! From math to arts. Funny, but sometimes I feel like Leonardo, without all his talents.
I believe that my only trully talent is acting, but I was never exepted at the Academy. i studied Astronomy and Planetary sciences in London, while i`m studying Psychology in my country.
I can`t seem to understand what my real desire is, or what my talents are?

I can't be bothered to answer you
you dont lack motivation, you lack focus.
you need to find the ONE thing that interests you most and stick with it. it may take sometime of searching for you to find it
Because u most probably hav never experience hunger.
You sound very much like me. but with different interests. I'm learning Japanese, have many hobbies, and also work as an IT consultant, continually taking exams etc.
What you need to do is create a 'life plan', like I did. Write down everything you want to achieve, whether it's to do with your acting, what you want to learn, where you want to go, and so on.
Then put them in order of importance, and give yourself a deadline. I did this for one of my IT certifications, and when I passed it, I got motivated into doing more!
You, my friend, sound like a polymath.
It's not a lack of motivation, as such. It sounds very much like you're easily motivated to do lots of things. The question you have to ask yourself is this: do I enjoy learning and doing the new things I do (regardless of whether you complete them).
You have plenty of motivation, you just don't have any direction. That is not necessarily a bad thing. Some of the most fulfilling experiences in life happen because of serendipity. And you court luck by exposing yourself to many things.
So whoever told you you have no motivation was wrong. And if it was you, then you're unnecessarily imposing "ideals" on yourself that actually aren't ideal at all.
As Baz Luhrmann said, "some of the most interesting people I know still don't know what they want to do with their lives at forty."
Da Vinci was an artist but he was more than that, he was a painter, an anatomologist, inventor, sculptor, writer and annotator, futurologist etc. If you choose a discipline you can bend other interests to form part of it. Your lucky, I don't even know what I'm interested in.
Many people are the same way. (I am, a bit.) You are more creative than logical (L v. R side of brain). Just study all the things that interest you. Be happy. Don't get in a rut. Starting things and not finishing is not a lack of motivation, it's boredom happening once you've mastered a subject! Or it's boredom because you find you aren't that interested in a subject. Just keep doing what you are doing. It's ok. Don't let anyone tell you anything about "You have to do this, blah, blah, blah. to be a useful member of society." You'll be fine!
There is nothing wrong with being interested in lots of things. You have a lively mind and lots of interests - that is a good thing. You will know when you find something that you really love and will be able to focus on it more. Life is a series of experiences and the more you have the more you understand others and life itself. Keep trying different things until you find something that you really love - if you don't find it, well just keep on looking and enjoy learning.
Hi there
Not to worry, I am exactly like you, trust me. And exactly like you, I thought the only thing I am good at was acting/dancing.
It is good to know that you have many interests and that you are good at them. In my case, I still haven't found what I really really like doing. Some of my friends have told me that many people belong to Gemini, Libra, Aquarius feel that way, and there are tendencies to be multi-talented. I am not sure if this is true but I am a Gemini.
I realized that by trying areas that interest me, I will eventually be lead to the one thing I am passionate about. So this is what I am going to tell you as well.
Keep trying and don't stop. It will be frustrating a bit. You can have some options for a career and start working on them, but dont stop exploring even if you have a career. This way you will eventually be lead to something you absolutely love doing.
Explore and discover yourself.
:)
To many irons in the fire, focus on what is important at the time.
Well Clarice, you're just going to have to figure it out for yourself.
I agree with the people who have already told you, it's lack of focus that you are suffering with, you need to focus on one area at a time and don't be so down on yourself, not many of us are blessed with genius, but we all have to start somewhere.
I liked the comment that someone said about never having experienced hunger - perhaps humility is a good place to begin after all- bring yourself back down to earth and be grateful for the great opportunities you have had to study what you want. Having your own ambition being your biggest problem isn't really a problem at all when compared with the very real problems of survival that other people experience. Perhaps your talents lay outside your own psyche - if you were able to hone your skills to help other people you may feel more satisfaction with your life, which could be an inspiration to other Leonardos out there!
go to another academy, just don't give up. Some of the most interesting people I know, still do not know what they want. You will find it, it has taken me 36 years to find mine.
because thats what you decide to feel, and thats what you decide to be,so a man thinks in his heart so he is..change that thinking to I can and I will!
Search within yourself. But in my opinion, u'r just lazy and scared of not succeeding at any of these things.
You are not motivated to do what your heart does not desire. Thus, you have to find out first where your passion lies. When you're passionate about something, you'll never lack the motivation for it.
I recently saw on TV a cheerleader who fell from the top of the pyramid, yet when she was being led out in a stretcher, her arms continued to move to the beat and chant. Even when she had a neck brace, though well enough to move a lot, she tried out for the cheerleading squad again. She said, it was something she was really passionate about ever since she was a little girl, and if you like something that much you don't stop just because you're hurt.
Take it from the cheerleader. Find your passion, and the motivation will surely follow.
I'd answer, only I can't be bothered
Like me you have to find the answer to a question you don't know,,,,, dose that make sence?
I have a similar problem myself. Throughout my life, I have pursued art, science, sport/fitness, learning to fly, learning to sail, language learning, psychology, computing, astronomy, acting and story/article writing. Sometimes, I feel as though I'm all over the place, and this includes my sexuality - as I'm a bisexual.
You have to try all your different things, and eventually you'll see what you go back to the most. Also, you need periods of calm and hoidays etc so you can relax, think, and see where your heart really is.
Relax
