Closed, it isn't about shutting out light, it's about relaxing the body.
I have friend with a glass eye and its weird when he takes it out..He used to place it on the side and say that he was keeping an eye on the place..
closed like everyone else.

Closed - to hydrate their eyes, just like anyone.
Closed. The body needs rest as well as keeping the eyes moist. Keeping them closed while sleeping is natural, and allows the body to replenish lost moisture.
closed, because if they will sleep with open eyes their eye will dry and becomes sensitive
Closed because when your body relaxes, your eyes shut. Closing your eyes when you sleep is not just to do with sight but also that keeping your eyes open takes more effort than keeping them shut. I know this today 'cause I'm feeling sleepy.
closed, they need to rest too.
they dont go to sleep really...
there planning there next attack on us
That is so mean! Blind people sleep with their eyes closed because they can't see in the daylight either! How dare you insult the blind community like that!
i think people that are blind sleep with there eyes open.
I would say with their eyes closed since most of the blind people I see walk around with their eyes close so why open them at night.
closed, they also usually blink as well, there body tries to protect their eyes even though they aren't being used. It is a normal response that you have some control over but you body will do it automatically.
I have a best friend that is blind and she does everything a lot like a sited person she even uses the words expect for she listens instead of watches. She sleeps with her eyes closed. But if you asked her she watches TV and read books. lol :-)
Even if you CAN see, do you leave your eyes open in the dark? What if it's pitch black when you are in bed? Do you leave your eyes open when trying to sleep?
NO! They'd tear up and sting!
Closed, like everyone else.
they sleep with them closed stupid they sleep just like any other person would!
All the blinds who have normal anatomical structure of their eyes do sleep with the eyes closed
closed for protection from dust.
closed, off course. Otherwise the skin above your eyes will dry out.
closed as they in general can still feel there eye balls getting dry and blinking is a motor reflex which is lost during sleep
Closed. They sleep just like the rest of us. I take a bus to work and a blind lady with her dog gets on everyday because she teaches at a school for the blind. I noticed every now and then she falls asleep and I can see from the side of her glasses that her eyes are closed.
closed as the body needs rem for sleep to occur and this only happens when eyes are shut
