my nationality is chinese. i felt very jealous about people/children can go to other countries for studying when i was young.

We should separate our feelings for ordinary people from their governments. I think people are people, and there are good and bad wherever you go and whatever nationality you are. I think the Chinese government has proved itself to be cruel and repressive to its own people, time after time. Personally, I've had several Chinese friends here in Britain, and they've been intelligent, hard working, polite and loyal.
I'm not prejudiced towards anyone. Have Japanese sister-in-law. Black brother-IN-law from previous marriage. I feel we are all human beings myself:-) Have a good one.

I lived in Hong Kong for two and a half years and liked the Chinese a lot. The only thing I cannot accept is eating dogs and killing tigers for medicines. Other than that you belong to one race that's human so should feel welcome anywhere.
the chinese are not really understood by the english, They are like a missing part of the world to most of us. The Baltic states were nearly unheard of before they joined the EEC recently. Now they are getting a lot of attention and 'fame' One thing I realise about the chinese is they are a sleeping giant waiting to flex its muscles and we are in for a shock.
i feel that the chinese people are being mistreated by their leaders. you should be allowed the same personal freedoms that citizens in other countries enjoy. you should be allowed to speak out against your country without being executed for it, while your parents are sent a bill for the cost of the execution. i pray your leaders will see that giving you the freedom to travel and learn, will bring you back to your country, because it is your home. how sad that people who have managed to escape can never safely go back to the place they grew up, the place where their families are. i think that the chinese people are just like people everywhere. they want to create a better life for themselves and the people they love, and they want the freedom of choice in who will lead them, and they want their voices to be heard and cared about.
You should not feel jealous of the opportunities given to other children even if they are not available to you. You may find later in life that your time will come. We all have to make the most of what is around us. Enjoy the good things in your life and try to change the bad as much as you can.
